LITTLE SCHOLAR PROGRAM

Pop Warner's corporate title, Pop Warner Little Scholars Inc, reflects the philosophy of our program.
La Mirada Matadores Youth Football (LMMYF) is committed to promoting academic excellence and will issue recognition for academic achievement based on the end of the school year grades. 
LMMYF gives individual awards to those players/cheerleaders with a 3.0 grade average or above.

🌟 POP WARNER ALL-AMERICAN SCHOLAR PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Each year, Pop Warner recognizes the top academic achievers across the country.

Minimum GPA to apply: 96% or higher

Selection tiers include:
  - National First Team (Top 35 Football & Top 35 Cheer per grade)
  - National Second Team
  - National Honorable Mention

In prior years, over 9,700 applications were submitted out of more than 325,000 participants.
Participation begins at the Association level and advances to Regional and National recognition.

🏅 2025 ALL-AMERICAN LITTLE SCHOLARS APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

For Football & Cheer Participants – La Mirada Matadores Youth Football & Cheer

📌 ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Participants must meet all of the following criteria:

• Be in 5th Grade or higher at the end of the 2024–2025 school year
• Maintain a GPA of 96.00 or higher for the full 2024–2025 academic year
• Submit a Completed National All-American Application (must be filled out by both participant and parent)
• Include a fully completed Addendum (attach additional pages if needed)
  

 Provide a copy of the full-year report card showing:

•  Student’s name
•  School year (2024–2025)
•  Grade level for the 2024–2025 school year

📝 SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS

•  Double check all sections for accuracy and completion
•  Top portion of application must be filled out in its entirety
•  Parent and Participant must sign and date the application
  ⚠️ Unsigned applications will be REJECTED

📚 SCHOLASTIC FITNESS POLICY

Pop Warner Little Scholars is the only national youth sports organization that requires scholastic eligibility. Participants must demonstrate satisfactory academic progress to be eligible to play.

Minimum Standard:

• A 2.0 GPA (70%) or equivalent is required to participate
• If a valid report card is not submitted, the Scholastic Eligibility Form must be completed and is deemed final

Cannot meet the GPA requirement?

Participants who fall below the 2.0 GPA threshold may still be eligible to participate by:

1. Completing the Scholastic Eligibility Form 
2. Submitting a progressing report card or progress report dated between September 1, 2025 and October 19, 2025

⚠️ If no valid documentation is submitted by the deadline, the participant will be ineligible for the remainder of the season
